If you enjoy crunching numbers and staying on the right side of the law, accounting school could be a perfect step for you. Graduates of accounting school are responsible for keeping a business financially on track, managing employee payroll, client and vendor billing, and profit margins.
Going to accounting school will prepare you for a career as a certified public accountant (CPA), auditor, or in the billing and accounting department of nearly any company. As a graduate of accounting school, you can pick and choose what kind of business you work for and what you do. Does it sound interesting to track profits, payroll, and return on investments for a large company? How about managing donation campaigns for a nonprofit organization? Other students take on additional education (like a master’s degree) to prepare for and take the CPA exam.
In accounting school, students will learn how to create, review and maintain financial records using programs like Excel and QuickBooks. Also, accountants need to keep up with tax laws and compliance policies to make sure their business practices are legal and clear. There are many opportunities for graduates of accounting school. |
